Is POD pea protein high in sodium?Updated 7 days ago
POD pea protein consumers enjoy the benefits of a clean, vegan, and dairy-free protein powder, but it does come with more sodium than your typical dairy-based protein powders like whey.
To extract and concentrate the protein from peas, the beans are processed with salt, and the protein powder retains some of this sodium. Nonetheless, sodium levels in your pea protein powder are still not alarming. In fact, a serving of your POD pea protein powder contains less sodium than ¼ of a teaspoon of table salt. 🥄
While the sodium content of your POD pea protein may seem relatively high, there’s nothing to worry about! It’s just a pinch of your daily sodium limit. 🧂
Relative to whey protein, the sodium content does seem greater, but it’s also still very low compared to other food products. 😄
