When and how do I enjoy the Wheyl energy gels?Updated a month ago

Your Wheyl energy gels are ready-to-eat as soon as you need them! Here are quick and easy tips to consume them even while you’re in the middle of your race: 


1.  Tear the packaging open 3/4 of the way with your teeth to prevent litter,

2. Once your Wheyl energy gels are open, squeeze the gel from the bottom to the top, and 

3. Take multiple smaller sips as you move! 


For activities lasting between 90 to 120 minutes or even more, consume 1 gel (30 grams of carbs) every 60 minutes to start, or 1 gel every 30 minutes once you’ve appropriately trained your gut to absorb the carbs. You can go higher as your intensity increases, but do keep in mind that higher carb consumption in short intervals or bursts may cause gastrointestinal discomfort (digestion or stomach discomfort). 


Additionally, it’s best to take multiple smaller sips throughout your activity instead of finishing your entire gel within a few seconds to prevent you from running into gastrointestinal discomfort early on in your activity. 


Since we know everybody works differently, it is highly recommended for you to test out your Wheyl energy gels in long training runs or rides first before using them in any race setting. ⚡️
